Simpang Lima area is the heart of Semarang which has five main road Jl . Gajah Mada , Jl . Pandanaran , Jl . Ahmad Yani , Jl . Heroes and Jl . K.A Dahlan . Jl . Perpendicular to Gajah Mada Jl . Pandanaran and Jl . Ahmad Yani cause differences in the movement direction of the wind that affects the concentration of CO at Jl . Gajah Mada as a control to indicate the condition of the street canyon . Another factor that affects the concentration of CO is the number of vehicles , temperature , humidity , wind direction and speed . The method of research is done by taking a sample directly in Gajah Mada street during rush hour vehicle for 6 days at points AG1, AG2, BG1 and CG1. Distance of each sampling point is 75 meters . Based on the results of the study , the concentration of CO in Gajah Mada street at 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on value ranges 5-11 ppm , at 1:00 p.m. to 14:00 range in grades 6-13 ppm , and 16:00 to 17:00 at the value range 14-21 ppm . The final conclusion is directly proportional to the number of vehicle CO concentration is high when the number of vehicles will increase the concentration of CO , while the temperature , humidity and wind speed is inversely proportional to the concentration of CO means that when the temperature , humidity and wind speed is low, the concentration of CO will increase while the wind perpendicular to the southeast on Jl . Gajah Mada increasing the concentration of CO than the wind heading south parallel to the road
