Tobacco is one of commodity of subsector of plantation and importanttrading in the world including Indonesia. The risk in the agrobusiness oftobacco needs to be considered because generally it brings loss which issuffered by the farmer. Efficient agrobusiness will encorage the use of factorsof production in optima, and then give maximum benefit for the farmer.Thisresearch aims to know preference of behaviour as decision maker against therisk, economic efficiency and the influence of preference of the farmer againstbenefit which is gained in agrobusiness of tobacco in Klaten regency. Basicmethod of the research used is analitical descriptive method. Data analysistechnique used is utility function and function of benefit of Cobb-Douglas.Theresult of the research showed that the the great part of tobacco farmer inKlaten regency behave neutral risk. The price of factors of production is thefee of labor and the price of manure from animal waste and the input is thatthe large of the the ricefield has influence to the level of benefit , while theprice of seed, manure of ZA and pesticide has unreal influence to the level ofbenefit. The result of analysis of economic showed that the agrobusiness oftobacco performed in Klaten regency has been in efficient. From theestimation of function of benefit is known risk of preferrence has no realinfluence against the benefit.Keywords: tobacco, risk, efficiency,benefit function of Cobb-Douglas
