Directorate General of Intellectual PropertyRights (DGIPR) is a government office under the Ministryof Law and Human Rights-Republic of Indonesia (MoLH).Directorate of Trademark is a 2nd Echelon Units of DGIPRand it has duty to manage marks data in Indonesia. One ofthe main tasks and functions of Directorate of Trademarkis to conduct a substantive examination for marks which isfiled by the applicant. Trademark examiner has tocompare many images to support the substantiveexamination. Currently, there is a tool that supporttrademark examiner to search the image. However, thisapplication does not have an adequate search featureimage. Search method just only based on a key word likename, nice class, but it is not the image similarity. ViennaClassification-VCL is an international classification basedon a hierarchical system that maps from the general tospecific, group brand figurative elements into categories,divisions and sections, based on its shape. The results ofthis research aim to build an image search based on theVienna Classification techniques combined with Content-based image retrieval (CBIR). CIBR is an application ofcomputer vision in order to avoid the use of textualdescriptions. So that, the result of the combination methodwill more accurate.
