Referring to Regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 34 Year 2010 on new student recruitment pattern contains the procedures for the implementation of self-selection and quotas, State College (PTN) must adjust the admissions process with the pattern of national selection and self-selection. The system led to PTN, including Perguruan Tinggi XYZ compete to introduce courses that are owned to prospective students with the purpose of recruiting prospective students who excel and in accordance with the needs of the institution. Research objectives are to: (1) determine the characteristics of new students Perguruan Tinggi XYZ, (2) determine the contents of campaign required for new students Perguruan Tinggi XYZ, and (3) determine the effectiveness of school visits to new students Perguruan Tinggi XYZ. Processing and analysis of data used is descriptive analysis and structural equation model (SEM) based variants. Keywords: promotion, school visit, CDM
