The purpose of this research is to know the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading achievement at the fourth semester of STKIP Dharma Bakti Lubuk Alung. The importance of reading makes the teachers pay great attention in teaching and learning process, in order to make their students comprehend the reading text. The design of this research is correlation research. The population of this research was the fourth semester students of STKIP Dharma Bakti Lubuk Alung, with 70 students. Cluster Random Sampling is used to decide the sample in the research. The instrument was vocabulary test and reading test. To know correlation between vocabulary mastery and their reading achievement, the researchers analyzed the data by using Correlation Product Moment, which were gotten coefficient correlation between two variables was 0.61 with index correlation in r-table was 0.1617 for α= 0.05. So, the coefficient correlation between two variables (rxy) t-calculated was bigger than t-table, it means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. In conclussion, there was a positive correlation 0.61 (61%) between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading achievement at the fourth semester students of STKIP Dharma Bakti Lubuk Alung.
