KESADARAN METAKOGNISI, KETERAMPILAN METAKOGNISI, DAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP KIMIA DASAR

Abstract: Metacognitive Awareness, Metacognitive Skills, and Mastery of Basic Concepts in Chemistry. The purpose of this study is to describe relationship between metacognitive awareness, metacognitive skill and concepts mastery in basic chemistry. Research subjects were 93 biology students of faculty of mathemat­ics and science of State University of Makassar in the 2009/2010 academic year. Research data were collected using Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) before and after one semester. Data were analyzed de­scriptively and inferentially using Pearson Product Moment and multiple regression. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there is no correlation between students metacognitive awareness and concepts mastery in basic chemistry; and (2) there is a very significant positive correlation between students metacognitive skills and concepts mastery in basic chemistry. Abstrak: Kesadaran Metakognisi, Keterampilan Metakognisi, dan Penguasaan Konsep Kimia Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara kesadaran dan keterampilan metakognisi dengan penguasaan konsep kimia dasar. Subjek penelitian adalah 93 mahasiswa jurusan biologi FMIPA UNM tahun akademik 2009/2010. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan angket Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) dan tes esei yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa sebelum dan setelah proses perkuliahan selama 1 semester. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial (menggunakan uji Pearson Product Moment dan regresi ganda) dengan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 15.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) tidak terdapat hubungan antara kesadaran metakognisi dengan penguasaan konsep kimia dasar; (2) terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara keterampilan metakognisi dengan penguasaan konsep kimia dasar.
