Penelitian ini adalah penelitian “quasi experiment “ yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran kontekstual dan konvensional, sedangkan variabel tak bebas adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Watansoppeng yang berjumlah 26 orang. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posstest-only control group design. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif melalui perhitungan secara manual menunjukkan bahwa persentase kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar dengan model contextual lebih besar dibandingkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Analisis inferensial melalui uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran contextual berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci : Model contextual learning, kemampuan berpikir kritis ABSTRACT This study was “quasi experiment “ that aims to know the effect of contextual learning model to critical thinking of students. The independent variable in this study is contextual and conventional learning model, than the dependent variable is critical thinking ability of students. The subject in this study are students of class XI which consist of 26 members. The design of this study is posstest-only control group design. Technique analysis of this data are descriptive and inferential analysis. Based on descriptive analysis through manual calculating showed that critical thingking ability percentage of the students who was learned by contextual is higher than conventional learning model. Inferential analysis through hypothesis test showed that contextual learning model has positive influenced to the critical thinking ability of the students.
